Improve Ecommerce INP: Why Cart Buttons Feel Slow

Improve store responsiveness by reducing long tasks, unnecessary scripts and delayed feedback.

Fast loading can still feel slow

INP measures responsiveness to clicks, taps and keyboard input across a visit. A page can appear quickly while cart buttons and navigation respond slowly enough to feel broken.

What is a good INP?

Google defines 200 milliseconds or less as good at the 75th percentile. Long JavaScript work from excessive tracking, chat widgets, popups or complex filters is a common cause of poor responsiveness.

Measure valuable journeys first

Test navigation, category filters, adding a service, opening the consultation form and submitting it. Remove unused scripts, load secondary tools only when needed and review real-user data rather than laboratory scores alone.
